Text Box: RCMC has extensive experience in upstream oil & gas. Through its Principal consultant Rex Gaisford and its panel consultants, RCMC has 35 years of experience at all levels of technical and commercial involvement and a full range of management roles. These encompass most facets of the industry including inter alia:
detailed technical work,
economics and modelling,
commercial negotiations,
contract definition and administration,
project management,
new business generation,
joint venture management ...etc.
In capital projects, RCMC’s principle consultant Rex Gaisford, has been an industry innovator. He has been intimately involved in conceiving and building the concept for more than a dozen major off-shore and on-shore oil and gas projects and subsequently their design, construction and operation. These include in the North Sea:
Beatrice,
Thistle,
Ivanhoe, Rob Roy,
Scott,
Angus,
Hudson,
Telford,
South Arne,
Bald Pate

Rex was also managerially responsible for companies' multi $bn investments in many more oil & gas fields.
He pioneered the Oil & Gas industries’ move to floating production and sub sea completions in the UKCS during the period1985 - 95. As Project Manager, conceived, designed and built the first gas exporting semi-sub FPSO for the Ivanhoe & Rob Roy fields in the UKCS followed by ship-shape FPSO’s for Angus and Hudson fields.
During this pioneering period Scott/ Ivanhoe/ Rob Roy were developed using the first novel sub-sea well-head completion cluster flowline collection arrays, which dispensed with the traditional heavy and expensive template designs which were then prevalent. The 500 mmbbl Scott field was a first of its type hybrid concept with conventional jacket supported drilling and production facilities on two bridge linked platforms but attached to three sub sea well clusters to accelerate early production from the field which reached max production flow of 250mbbld in 3 months from start-up.

In his early career Rex was involved in the design verification and installation of:
Thistle single anchor leg mooring (SALM) for specially adapted tankers.

This experience, he subsequently put to use in conceiving, designing and constructing many pipelines and production off-take arrangements including:

Flexible gas risers for Ivanhoe & Rob Roy
Trunk pipelines for oil and gas from Thistle > Sullom Voe
Trunk pipeline from Beatrice > Nigg,
The gas pipeline from AH001 to St Fergus via SAGE
Trunk pipeline Ivanhoe/Rob Roy subsea cluster > Flotta,
Trunk pipeline Hudson > Tern,
Trunk pipelines South Arne > Esbjerg Demark
Other detailed involvements include; the Central Area Transmission System (CATS) and the UK> Holland gas interconnector.

The Company’s principals also have long experience in management and direction of G&G activities, reservoir engineering and drilling.
